I would just like to direct the anon from before (and anyone else wondering the same thing) to http://areyoumakingmoreredvsblue.com/
(Burnie also talked about S11 coming out in summer in the 10th anniversary podcast today, if you wanted more confirmation).
THANK YOU
Burnie Burns: I have to point out the inaccuracy of having a Grifball match chronologically in the Red vs Blue universe as part of the Freelancer story.
Matt Hullum: It is a chronological error and I think the debate we had when talking about putting in the Grifball stuff here and with York later, where he’s wearing the Grifball shirt, was something along the lines of, “Fuck it.”
And later down the line, Grifball is becoming a public playlist!
Anyone else of, or know of any other Red vs Blue easter eggs?
Team mate makes a joke about having Caboose on his team.
Makes a joke how there’s no tank on this map so everyone will be fine.
He goes and teamkills me.
I found that quite funny.
(my GT is Caboose related)
As usual, the season finale has left me in a weeping, shameful puddle of my own emotions. I was bitter towards Carolina- why did couldn’t she have just let Church be content for once, kick up his feet and boss around Tucker and Caboose like old times? After five seasons of continuous mental and emotional chaos for the poor guy, he doesn’t even get to remain in what he calls “home”.
When I saw his sniper rifle left up there on the ridge, I covered my mouth with my hand and just cried. The one thing I wanted for the Reds and Blues was to find a box canyon to call home and just argue and be lazy in, which they did get- but the fact that Church, my favorite character in the whole show had to leave it all behind just killed me.
But I realized something- reinforced with the revelation that Flowers was a Freelancer assigned to keep an eye on Alpha, we see that really all the chaos and danger starting from the very first season was indirectly Church/Alpha’s fault. If he hadn’t been placed in that canyon, Sarge, Grif, Simmons, Donut, Lopez, Tucker, Caboose, and even Doc- none of them would have been put through such danger, nearly (and some actually) losing their lives along the way, and becoming wanted criminals of the UNSC.
Church smiles and walks away from his best friends (though he’d never admit it) who survived hell and back with him and saw him through being Church, Alpha, epsilon, and the Director himself- leaves them all behind. He lets Wash take his place as the cranky leader of Blue team and, unlike the start of the season, he isn’t angry about it. Not because he doesn’t care for everyone or it doesn’t hurt him to just leave without saying goodbye, but he wants them to be content and happy, finally where they belong. He leaves so that they won’t be threatened with actual danger and fear anymore, because maybe without him they’ll for once be at peace.
Caboose looks up at the last place he saw his best friend and when it dawns on him Church is gone, he isn’t sad. Church just has to be somewhere else right now, but he’ll come back for him.
He always does.(that is just my opinion on the matter please don’t say mean things to me in capslock)
